AT & PN: Making blocks horizontal, instead of vertical  Bottom

  • Ok, I hope I can explain this really well :D

Basically, I have my left blocks vertical, and thats fine. What I want, is to use either right blocks or center blocks so it looks kind of like this:

    Header image
    1st Center block | 2nd Center block | 3rd Center block | 4th Center block
Right block | 2nd Right block | 3rd Right block

    1st Left Block Content
    2nd Left Block Content
    3rd Left Block Content
    etc

Having whatever blocks designated as left go down the left, and center blocks go horizontally, rather than go down in their current fashion. I tried to get around this using Center & right blocks, but I can only do two blocks, then they start going vertical again.

Hope this made some sense, if not, i can do an HTML page to explain.

Im using the latest version of PN and AutoTheme on a unix server, if that even matters :)

Update: I got it to work.
  • You would have to do it with Area blocks.

  • but how do you specify those when you create a new block from the blocks menu? i only get options for center, right & left. I looked at the theme.php file and it shows break; after each block section, but taking those out just kills the entire thing. naturally, i assume its something im missing in theme.php rather than in theme.cfg

now to just figure out how to get the area1block, etc to show up.. thx
  • Either install and Activate Xanthia or AutoTheme.

  • im already using auto theme.. thought i mentioned that..

Sorry if I sound stupid, but Ive been searching the forums for over an hour now and finding somewhat useful information that leads to PHP errors.. and im ready to give up.

Im not a total idiot.. Ive been using PN for a long time. I would upgrade to xanthia or whatever, but right now this is a live site that I cant pull down.. Im trying to change this per-theme at least for now.
  • If you installed EVERYTHING from AutoTheme then you should see area blocks in the drop down.
Go back and follow the AT install instructions to the letter and they will show up for you.
