  • Yeah, so the mod works fine on an older version of postnuke. As soon as pnrender comes into play it wont load the module. Someone please help me. To the author of the wonderful mod, I see your current version of postnuke is the older stable version. Can you upgrade this script to work with pnrender. I think this is my problem. I need this on my site, I also need pnrender for the bkb games database, AND OF COURCE I would chose the gameDB over the jokeDB, but I would really like them both. Holla man.
  • BTW, I found another older joke module, intjokes, It appears to be very similar, same god damn errors. Even if it was just an upgrade, keep up the good work. Also I was getting time exceeded errors when trying to load the jokes, found a work around though, I had to cut them down to a smaller size when starting up the module for the 1st time. 1 .sql file with all the jokes would be a great alternative, so I could just fire it up in phpMyAdmin.
  • Unless it uses it's own Smarty implementation, I doubt pnRender is the real problem, the changes to the API are probably the problem. What error are you getting?

  • Sorry about the tripple post, this might help a bit more if I were more informative.

For the record, the only error I get is when a end user or admin attempts to add a joke to the database. The link also has changed from addjoke to _USERADDJOKE I can recall having a problem like this over a year ago with phpnuke. Maybe this helps a tad?

Yes, it is not pnrender apperently as I have it on now, but something in XTE started the problem. As it was fine untill that point in time. The exact message is

An error occurred while loading the module

Kind of in the dark on where to start.
  • _USERADDJOKE is a language define.. depending on the type of mod, the file location varies.. pnlang/ or lang/

..I think that the XTE relation is just a coincidence.. it really should'nt have any bearing on mod output.. unless the files got mixed and mismatched.. if _USERADDJOKE was not like that before this error began to occur, then I'd suspect that to be the case.
  • Link please. Odds are it needs the same type modification that PNphpBB2 did.

  • With out being able to see what it's doing on your site, it's not going to be easy to figure out, and i don't see a link to the module on your page.

You think it's having troubles registering/maintaining session data??

..could be something as simple as the use of global vars..

    Okay, see you soon!

Hahahahah! ..just kidding.. kidding, kidding, kidding.. hahahaha.. good one eh??

..I give myself 2 pts for that one icon_lol
  • call me crazy, but maxdev runs pnrender, and the mods i want just fine. I dont understand how they can be more compatable with maxdev but they are. Im still running both CMS in a test enviornment and will be doing the same with mambo. I still have yet to make my choice, all I know for sure is that I will never go back to phpnuke.
  • Probably because the likly cuplpret in your problem is a change in the pnAPI that isn't made in MaxDev.
