I am a new entrant into the PostNuke community and I am trying to fit in and understand. Unfortunately, one of the things that I really need and don't have the time to deal with is the multisite issue. I am willing to pay something (amount to be determined) for someone to create a script or to support the development of a module that will make this easier. I have no problem with this work being public and given to the community but it will be a work for hire so the supplier cannot make money from it in the future without my approval. That's the only way I can support the community right now. Anyone who is interested, please contact me in this forum or directly. Thanks very much and I look forward to the opportunities. -

We can better assist you if you let us know what, exactly, you need. You express a lack of understanding about multisites and the need for it to be easier to use, but I would first make sure that: 1) it actually does what you need it to when it works, and 2) nothing else is available to do the same thing with less headache.
Do you need multiple independent sites but only want to manage a single copy of each module/theme/userlist?
-or-
Do you just need multiple homepages on the same site?
-or-
Do you want to have subdomains that bring visitors to areas of your site other than the index? -

This is what I am looking to accomplish. Is this solved with multisite or with another module or configuration? -

This is also what i want. Plus with each subsite using it's own theme, having its own homepage. The Top site should be able to gather info from ll others independent subsites. Is this possible at the moment?
ps: i saw a post of Markwa\est saying that Multisite module will be completely different in PN 0.8. Shall we wait for it? -

Maybe so. I basicly want two or three different sites up and running but with only one user list. So if a user wants access to the other site, they will just login with the same user ID and password. -

These docs are worth a read. Not sure they answer all my questions, but some good background. -

I read the same thing, I put a halt on trying to get multisite up and running between my sites simply because of that fact. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what is awaiting us in the new .08
