MultiSites Publishing Question  Bottom

  • I have a site running on multisites and for the most part everything seems to be working correctly but I am running into one problem.

When I post a story it posts to all four sites. I have gone through the tutorials but I am apparently missing something and I am lost as to how to make stories wind up where they should be.

I am hoping there is a simple answer that it is going to make me bang my head against my keyboard.

Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Oh and yes I searched and the most I got is that this module is a Pain in the arse to install and one is lucky if it works the first time out. :D
  • I dont have any help for you BUT I would like to say

    nice Work!!

post your websites urls so we can take a look :)
  • Thanks for the compliments Mus but the site I am working on is not my personal site. I guess I could have given a little more detail in my original post.

Here is a little history and detail about the problem site.

First off if you are offended by alternative lifestyles the don't follow the links below

History: Apparently the original designer of the site walked away from the project recently for reasons unknown (at least to me). The owner of the site and the current admin don't know anything about PN or php/MySQL. So I said I would take a look at it and see if I could figure out what was wrong and fix it. I have looked at the multisites config files and everything looks right but, as I stated above, I just can't figure how to get a story to publish on a single edition of the site. All submissions publish to all editions of the site.

This is a paying job if anyone can figure it out and get me an estimate I will pass it on to the owner. Right now I am ready to walk away from it myself because he is balking about my prices. He wanted me to add more installations of PN to start more editions of the site and also abandon the multisites module if I couldn't get it working. I quoted him about $100.00 for each new install due to time for configuring themes, setting up modules, etc. The answer I got back was "Ouch, not interested". I thought it was a fair price.

    Anywho, here are the URLs

    the main site URL is
    http://www.expmagazine.com/

which will lead you to the subdomains
    http://missouri.expmagazine.com/html/
    http://midstates.expmagazine.com/html/
    http://midatlantic.expmagazine.com/html/

The main PN install is here

Thanks in advance for any help
  • Wow, he balked at $100 for new install and set-up?

I think your rates were very reasonable.
