Block control by page  Bottom

  • I'm interested in the ability to control the display of blocks by page, not just by module. The Block control in Xanthia works great if each page you make is designed in a different module. But say I use something like Pagesetter that has many publication types. It's possible to develop areas of a site with different content layout and formatting, including custom templates, with each publication. But there doesn't seem to be a way to show different blocks for these different page areas.

Basically the idea is I'd like to for a given page object: name the module and name the blocks, and format the layout of all of them. Then repeat the process for another page object. Then I can use instances of those objects in different areas of a site.

Can something like AutoThemes do this? Is there another module out there that can provide advanced layout controls of both blocks and other module content? Just wanted to pick everyone's brain about it.
    Thanks,

  • Check AutoTheme. You can control blocks on any page. Check the docs about Custom Modules, and new to .8 is Module Options, so you can customize every page within a module.

  • I'd love to have this in Xanthia too.
Can a module set a template dynamically, so that you can control the layout according to your own whim within the same module? Is there some reference material somewhere with this info?
