Flavicons  Bottom

  • Does anyone know how to add a flavicon to a post nuke site?
  • I think you mean favicon, the icon that appears in the location bar before , in IE favories lists, and on mozilla/firefox tabs. Support is already built-in to PostNuke. This code is from the master.htm file of the pnDefault theme:

    Code

    <link rel="icon" href="<!--[$imagepath]-->/icon.png" type="image/png">
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<!--[$imagepath]-->/favicon.ico">

    Both tags look to the /themes/yourtheme/images/ folder. Put your icon there. The PNG format is the standard, so best to have support for that. You can also edit the tempalte file if you want to use a different filename for your icon(s).

  • it's not that complicated as KJHATCH mentions!
    What you do, is that you make an icon (16x16px) call it FX FAVICON.ICO. upload it to your root directory and vuti it works. Will be shown in IE when added to fav. sites and in Netscape when surfing to the site.
    Now do remember, that ICO is just another version of BMP, so you can just rename any BMP to ICO.
    Just remember the size, that's almost important!

  • kjhatch's explanation is standard for Xanthia themes... otherwise the above will work with others.
