Postnuke site optimized for Blackberry - WML support  Bottom

  • I recently got a Blackberry and been having alot of fun exploring all the features and possibilities.

I would like to know what it would take to optimize a Postnuke site for viewing by a Blackberry.

Any ideas on how to render pages as WML? Could this be done as a theme?
  • Shouldn't the avantgo module look after this - I guess it is only for the articles module though...

I guess a theme could be made for this - they do read HTML don't they: what is the screen resolution?

Funny you should talk about this - I see some cops are getting them and that they have access to commercial databases with info on virtually every citizen in the US... scary

  • I admit, I haven't really looked into the Avantgo module. However, this isn't really what I want to do.

The devices are intended to use WML, though they can render HTML. There are a few advantages of using WML (such as data compression).

Resolution is 240x160 (normal text is 10 llines by 35 characters).

WML is a subset of XML.

I am going to look for some guides on how to create HTML optimized for these devices. Tips and tricks. I'd really like to find a well done site to see some examples.

Ideally, I'd like it to design the site with WML.

I think it may be possible to do via a template?

What would it cost to have someone here develop a basic theme to support WML?
