I'm using a Postnuke standard theme, and I need to convert it to AutoTheme, but I have no idea where to start.
I read over and over the tutorial at www.alarconcepts.com , and I don't see some section about my request, for instance, what code goes in the new theme.php, or what goes in the autotheme.cfg, I know that I need to create the leftblock, rigthblock, header, footer, theme.html, etc., files, but where should I define how to display the blocks in the main page.
So, in conclusion, please, tell me how to start first, from scratch, and then, how to integrate the HTML pages to the AutoTheme, as a whole.
Thanks again ;)

I want to convert to AT because gives me more control about the position of some blocks, I just define it through a simple HTML file, and then in AT administrator, I define which areas (block position) want to show, and in that way I present different content for different kind of users, especially useful when you have different groups define it in your PN.
That's why :)
But up until now, I used predefined existent Autothemes, but never convert an existant PN theme to AT, and that's why I'm asking how to do it
Thanks again ;) -

This is easy, just visit a postnuke install with the theme installed and showing.
Save the site using your browser (mozilla firefox does this well: file-saveas).
You then have a working template of the theme, after this go through the code and find the instances of each block, the article summary and the actual full article.
From here it is a simple matter of moving the code to the appropriate elements in AutoTheme.

..I'm a little confused as to why you would want to convert it to AT.. I've heard a lot from people wanting to convert "from" AT..but never "to".. just curious.

You must not be paying attention! I've always seen people wanting to convert to AT and emailing me themes asking to convert it. Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen anyone wanting to convert an AutoTheme theme back to the old way.

..maybe..whatever.. I don't really care much about it to tell you the truth. .."to each their own" you know?
I asked a simple question of the poster, it was not my intention to sway their decision..I was just curious.. -

As am I, most of my support and commercial activities involve the conversion of themes to AutoTheme and not the other way around... What type of theme system are people wanting to convert AT themes to? I am sure it can't be the orginal system, and if it is Xanthia it would not be smart in my opinion as AutoTheme is more stable than Xanthia... (at this time)
Just my 2 cents...

..maybe the 2 of you should be addressing the posters query and not mine.. sorry, but really..I have very little interest in theming.
Hey no worries man, I was just curious that's all - thought there might be another theme engine I hadn't heard of LOL
As to answering the original query, I think eland summed it up well enough for me and I have nothing more to add.
