Hey just a suggestion, and correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't seen anything in these forums, You guys should add a forum area that allows designers to advertise and sell custom themes that they have made. We have a bunch that really make the postnuke engine work and they look good.
Anyways if anybody is interested in taking a look at them just PM me and I can show you.
Thank,
Chris

At this point, ads of any nature (Freebies or paid) are not allowed in the forums, and I don't expect them to be. There is supposed to be a comercail subsite comming soon to allow people to anounce their new releases that are of a comercial nature, but not sure when that will happen.

Yes, so for now you're SOL. Doesn't really matter what you want to see or be informed of, you'll see and be informed of what they want you to see and be informed of :) Sound familiar?

I would expect that kind of attack out of Warwick, but I expected better of you Shawn. There is a DRASTIC difference between that argument and this policy.
1. The subsites are for announcements of new releases, they belong there, should be structured and it shouldn't matter what license they are under. Unfortunatly those who make the decision have made it and no matter how wrong it is, it stands.
2. The forumsa re for support, announcements are out of place here plain and simple. Why, with established channels for announcing releases, should we allow developers to circumnavigate that process by allowing them to announce things where they don't belong?

Sorry, it was not directed towards you, just the environment around here as of late. Hence the smiley face. :)

My point was that the "subsites" don't exist to my knowledge. So there is no outlet for this information at present.

1, they weren't out of place until a week or so ago. 2, established channels? Hence my first point. Where is that channel? They belonged here until fairly recently and many (very many) really enjoyed having them here because they appeared much sooner than the news that must be posted by an admin. I on more than one occasion when there were site problems that prevented my news from being published, was told to please announce in the forums in the mean time. Hmmm...
Thanks though. No offense to you or anyone else intended.

Attack? Just because I don't agree with your "vision" for the forums doesn't mean I am attacking you personally. I've told you repeatedly that I think your ideas are misguided and hurtful to the community. Granted its not up to me, but a tad of civil disobedience may eventually get your misguided policies changed. God knows I'm not the only one who disagrees with you.
