  • Anyone can say they were a customer, I don't recognise your username as being one of our cmsMerchant clients but obviously you may have purchased under a different username on our site. So presuming you were indeed a client then please do e-mail me as I would really like to know what you found so awful and lacking with cmsMerchant, this is a great way to ensure the module improves and further features get added.

    With regards,

Assumptions are a funny thing, people can be sooooo wrong. I didn't say anything negative, just recommended a search. I was a customer but this isn't the forum for rehashing old wounds. Do a search, make up your own minds, simple advice.

  • Surely it's up to me what I want to do with my code. But you seem to need a reason, so... My main reason for not wanting to make money from the products of my labour, is that when I have it doing what I want it to do, it won't be in a fit state to sell. I already have my finger in too many pies to start thinking about marketing/support/development of something else. So, I guess you could say the reason in lack of time or perhaps laziness.

The "number of sides" thing was a joke. Naturally a wheel has just the one side. Unless it's a shopping trolley wheel (obviously).

Worse than naive? Giving something away for nothing? I also give a small percentage of my hard earnt cash to charity and don't feel bad, stupid or gullible for doing so. In fact, it makes me feel good. So, worse for whom?

I've had to bite my pie-stained typing finger...

It's up to you what you do with your code yes, every action has a reaction though and we are responsible for our actions.

Well it's not as easy some people think anyway and you will discover that.

The difference is people who want to make money are usually expected to spend some to make some, they are intent on obtaining a profit, they are not charities, the difference is crystal clear I think.

Talking of charities, I've worked for four in the past, often as a volunteer and at great personal expense, far from making me feel good it made me realise how lucky I was, but anyway we digress and I'm bored with all this now.
