What about an off-topics forum?  Bottom

  • What about opening an off-topics forum (of course PN-related...)? Looking through the guidelines sometimes make me wonder where to start a thread... For example I just started this thread about Google PageRank. Reading through the guidelines for the forum it doesn't really fit there - and no where else either... maybe recycled bin...
  • A lounge would be good :)

  • I don't think this is a good idea, there are already enough worthless posts cloging up the search results, and the moderators already have enough work on their hands as it is.

  • So, what if these "worthless posts" that doesn't fit anywhere could be in a own forum... Would that make the other forums better or worse? As it is today there are lots and lots of posts that doesn't fit according to the guidelines in any forums, still people wants/needs answers. Sometimes the posts are just plain b-s, but sometimes these posts are worth gold.

Moderators needed? Why not post a news article about it? Guess you would get a few to choose from...
  • I think somthing like a lounge or a open topic forum would be good would give all the Pnukers a chance to talk more freely with out the worry of "can I post this here" thingy. And if its about not having moderators to cover a new forum I would be one of the first to offer my time to helping out, just to give back a little to the PN world that has already helped me so much 8)
  • Again, it's already hard enough to find usefull information in these forums, the addition of an off-topic forum would only make it that much harder. More moderators wouldn't change the fact that there are more posts to go through either. Every mod should scan all new posts that show up for them, and that means more work for the moderators, be there 1 or 100.

Generally, if it's not about PostNuke, it doesn't belong here. If you need help with General PHP, then there's SItePoint and Devshed, if you need server help, there's sitepoint and webhostingtalk and others, Design, again SitePoint. If you need help with using or writing a theme, module or block, then this is the place.

And if it's posted in the wrong place, we'll move it where it belongs.
