remove left side blocks?  Bottom

  • I was wondering if it was possible to remove the left side blocks just when people go into the forum's or gallery's? Then when they go back home the left side blocks come back? Thanks!

  • You can do it easily with the AutoThemes module. Click the link in my signature for more information.

    It can't be done with a regular theme unless you hack it.
  • I wouldn't call it hacking the theme to make the change to make this happen, it may seem like that, but that's because of how the theme works. Granted it's easier in AutoTheme & Xanthia than it is in classic themes, but really it's not hacking anymore than it's hacking to accomplish the same thing in Xanthia or AutoTheme.

  • Well, actually, I am using AT-Lite. I only want the left block to go away when they go to the forums or the gallery, any help on how to do this would be appreciated, thanks!
  • I tell ya, t'wood be helpful if poster's either specified they had AT in the first place or if a separate forum were set up on these boards specifically for AT (though I'm not optimistic everyone would find their way there).

    AutoTheme is *not* a core Postnuke theme...

    Now that PostNuke includes Xanthia as its theme engine (included in the new 0.750 Gold RC2), it's really easy.

    In Xanthia, all you have to do is create a custom module template for the forum or gallery and simply delete the HTML code for the left blocks including

    Code

    <!--[$leftblocks]-->
    in those custom module templates.

  • In AT, all you need to do is turn the leftblocks off in the Admin panel. No need to hack the theme file as you apparently need to do with Xanthia.
