Theme error  Bottom

  • I'm trying to install some themes and it gives me this error:

Fatal error: call to undefined function: themeheader() in /home/bighappy/public_html/postnuke/header.php on line 188

    Any Ideas???
  • We need more information to answer your question.

    Things to verify:

Did you upload the theme files properly?

Are you using an AutoTheme? Are you certain you have the right version of the module?
  • I am brand new at this but I'll give you the best info I can......first question....I put the theme files into the same directory as the default themes.....#2....What's an Auto theme?

Sorry I can't tell you more.
  • Well if it was an AutoTheme, then you need the AutoTheme module (see my signature for the module). Most Postnuke themes are AutoThemes now.

    not even close.

I would say maybe 10% of the available themes are AT.

  • Really? Well I was just guessing, so you are probably right. In years past my problem was always finding phpNuke themes, but rarely quality postnuke themes.
  • I have the same question. Does getting the above-stated error message mean that the theme is an AutoTheme one and I need the module installed? Also, is there a tutorial for AutoTheme? I remember purchasing it over a year ago, but trashed it because I couldn't make heads or tails out of the tutorial. I'm quite familiar with HTML and design and I'm a great big newbie when it comes to PHP and these modules and blocks since I've only been at it for a bit over a year.
  • That's the cool thing about AutoThemes - you don't need to know PHP - just HTML.

The best tutorial are the themes included with the AT module. Just download the free module, install it and look at the included themes. Its really suprisingly easy.

No, it means that something is wrong with the theme. Either a file is missing, it's not meant for PostNuke, or it's an AutoTheme.

Also, is there a tutorial for AutoTheme?

I believe there are at least 3 now. One written by Lobos of http://www.webvida.com, one by Alan of http://www.alarconcepts.com that is $5 and I saw a post recently about a new one, don't know anythinga bout it as of now because I haven't gotten to that post yet.

  • There are lots of tutorials, but I don't think any tutorial can equal what one learns by simply opening up a default AutoTheme and looking through the code. The themeing system has a simple elegance that can be easily overlooked.

Maybe true if you take in to account all the themes ever made for PN, but I would say 99% of releases in the last few months have been AT...
