I had Pagesetter running (sort of) but realized it wasn't going anywhere without pnrender. So i installed XTE. big mistake...clobbered the site - oh well...easy come easy go. installed new, added Pagesetter...it is navigable in admin. then when XTE goes in, everything falls apart. I tried a couple of the themepack themes - piterpan and seabreeze. both work well in admin, and nowhere else. all other blocks show .html links that are dead. must be missing a step. and Pagesetter is toast. wont even open in admin. i have followed all instructions, perms are right, directories are in the right place. any brilliant ideas? this is on .726 running on Linux. Thanks!

The HTML links will be because you've enabled short urls in the xanthia admin panel. There are three short URL schems (.htm, .html and .phtml) for which you need to place the correct .htaccess file (found in Xanthia\pndocs\shorturls\<scheme>). Place the correct .htaccess file in your PN root (this requires mod_rewrite) or disable short urls.

Also try to be a little precise in the reporting of problems. It took me three reads to get to the key fact - links being changed with a .html extension.

Hey, thanks Mark for the tip. sorry i wasn't detailed enough.

The site's pages all appear to be working now that short URL's are off.

Pagesetter, (which is why I turned on Xanthia to begin with) however remains dead in the water. No errors, just struggles to open and eventually times out. Pnrender opens in admin. Can't see any special file permissions or setup files I'm missing. I've pulled ps and reinstalled a few times...no luck. Something special that must be done with Pagesetter in order to use Xanthia?

Pagesetter requires pnRender, Xanthia is just the theme system and has no impact on Pagesetter's functionality. Have you been over to Jorn's site and looked at some of the XTE RC3/PageSetter issues?

Thanks! I mucked with some of the folder perms after a couple of complete remove/reinstalls, and it finally came to life. Now to figure out how to use it! And XTE appears to be functioning as well.
