I've searched around and can't seem to figure out how to do this ...
When someone posts news on a postnuke site most of the time hte news is in like a table with a nice bar graphic that says the date ect... (www.slashdot.com) I am tryin to figure out how to do this, mine is just a standard table guess that comes default.

you need to download and install a new theme.
http://pnthemes.weblives.net/ here's a good place to start :)
then if you want to edit your front page news further, you need to pull apart summary.php (when using an AutoTheme)

Egads what an obnoxious theme they're using on their site. Noise everytime I go to another page.. Bad taste.
If I ever get my welcome e-mail from them, I'll download it and check it ou.

Also your not using the right module here. Admin messages are not for News. Use the add story module from the admin panel to add a news article (users submit news using the submit news module). Admin messages are for site annoucements e.g. maintanince, down time etc.

I solved the neews posting problem, I use Firebird as my main browser and the theme is built for IE, when i view it in IE its fine. However I still need to figure out how to change the nav bar at the top. thanks -

You need to figure out how to fix it for FireBird too. If it doesn't workin FB then something is being done wrong.
