News Question!  Bottom

  • I've searched around and can't seem to figure out how to do this ...

When someone posts news on a postnuke site most of the time hte news is in like a table with a nice bar graphic that says the date ect... (www.slashdot.com) I am tryin to figure out how to do this, mine is just a standard table guess that comes default.
  • you need to download and install a new theme.

    http://pnthemes.weblives.net/ here's a good place to start :)

then if you want to edit your front page news further, you need to pull apart summary.php (when using an AutoTheme)

    good luck :)
  • Thanks very much for your reply! I choose the Ezine2 theme however when i go to post news (Admin message) nothing shows up? Any idea why?
  • /bump :(
  • Probably because, for some reason, that them isn't supporting it.

  • Ah dang :( its the only one i liked too!
  • Egads what an obnoxious theme they're using on their site. Noise everytime I go to another page.. Bad taste.

If I ever get my welcome e-mail from them, I'll download it and check it ou.

  • Ok its Ezine2 not Ezine
  • You'll need to open the theme.html file and add

    Code

    <!-- [center-blocks] -->
where you'd liek the admin message to show up.

  • Alright hmm alittle confuseing but i will try lol im a PN noob :)
  • Also your not using the right module here. Admin messages are not for News. Use the add story module from the admin panel to add a news article (users submit news using the submit news module). Admin messages are for site annoucements e.g. maintanince, down time etc.

  • Well I've started to figure things out as you can now see http://lust.homeunix.org/

    >--- main priority<----Now my next question is how to get the news i've posted up in the center near below the top menu bar. Like seen here http://pnthemes.weblives.net/renders/ezineorangeborder.jpg

Or hell even put anything up in that spot..

Also am curious if i change the navigation.gif how do I change hte address of the link where it points too?[/url]
  • I solved the neews posting problem, I use Firebird as my main browser and the theme is built for IE, when i view it in IE its fine. However I still need to figure out how to change the nav bar at the top. thanks
  • You need to figure out how to fix it for FireBird too. If it doesn't workin FB then something is being done wrong.
