I need to build, or have someone build, a store locator script. I am new to PHP though, and while I may be able to do some work, I will need some help.
What I want to do is have a module that will do 2 things. First, it lets people register their stores name, address, contact info, and a short description with my site. They can also upload a small logo.
Secondly, I would like my other site users to be able to search for stores in their area. Also by category, which their will be several of.
Lastly, if this could tie into mapquest to show exactly where the store is, and provide driving directions, that would be a plus.
If anyone is working on something like this, or thinks they may like to start, please let me know. As I said, I can probably do a little, but I would first need to faamiliarize myself with the PN Module Template.

I think Pagesetter will do what you are looking for but I'm not sure. Take a look at it. I know it is still under development but there have been leaps and bounds of improvements and it may help you out. -

Thanks, ill look into that. It seems I would still need to do a considerable amount of work to get to where I want though. I would still need to create forms for registration and submissionm and then I would need to create the search interface that will hopefully be able to tie into mapquest. But, if there are no other options, at least its a start. -

With Pagesetter you only define which fields you want - then Pagesetter generates the form it self. The next version will although let you tailor the forms to your needs.
Searching is also handled in Pagesetter through the standard PostNuke search API. This implies full-text search in all the fields you specify as being searchable. -

I need the search to be seperate for this, not through the entire postnuke database. I want the search interface and the results to be tied into mapquest if possible, so I might just have to look into creating something else. Maybe I can use Pagesetter as a referance though. And if anyone else is willing to help, it would be very much appreciated. -

I don't think you'd want to use Pagesetter as a reference point to do this. It's far more complex a module to base something simple in comparison off of.
