Ok, I have searched for this problem and I have seen various situations. Maybe I am reading wrong but I do not see an applicable fix.
When a user logs in on the main page, they are fine. If they log in on a core module they are usually fine as well. It seems to me when a user logs in on a module that does not come with post nuke it redirects to the modules.php and not to the specific module they were at when the logged in.
The error they get is, sorry can't acces this file directly.
My question is, how can I fix this? Or is there a way that I can make the error say, Sorry, can't access this file directly please click here and give them a link to the main page?
My main goal would be to get the redirect to where they where when they log in, but that doesn't always work.
1. I am no the webhost so I can't edit the php.ini for register globals.
2. I can however edit certain files to make this error disaapear.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

It seems that the link in your menu to this 3rd party module is not correct. Unfortunately you do not say which module is affected
Old-style use the [modulename] syntax, e.g. [phpBB_14].
New-style modules use {modulename}, e.g. {pncommerce}
From what you say my best guess is that you use [] instead of {}
