I haven't tried this one, but you could try using the tag, but I am pretty sure there isn't a way to keep it from reloading the page unless you create a theme using frames, and add it to the header. It is invisible, but some browsers don't recognize it. I used it once before and decided to remove it because of this problem. The instructions tell you to also add the tag along with it, for browsers that can't understand bgsound, but this ends up being more of a pain.
Why not add a small Flash box (or QuickTime) with an on/off switch, so users can choose whether or not they want to hear it? That way, you won't irritate users that visit your site often :)
I did a quick search for BGSOUND and found a few sites:
http://www.htmlcodet…ounds/_BGSOUND.html
http://wdvl.internet…ag_Ref/bgsound.html
http://www.tips-tricks.com/sound.asp
Sorry I'm not much help, but from experience using this technique, I've found that some browsers are nasty - playing 2 songs at once (because of the double tags) and others play nothing at all.
Good luck! -
