images not showing in theme  Bottom

  • HI,
Before I begin I would just like to say that most of the information I have found here is through searches. so when I post it is the last resort.

Ok the problem i have is that i just uploaded a new theme and none of the images show(infact i get the same problem when i try to add any image to any other excisting theme) I have learned alot about postnuke and AutoTheme and feel pretty comfotable with them but this image problem is becoming a real stumbling block for me.

I tried uploading images through dreamweaver as root and document but I keep getting the infamous little red cross. I know I am missing something really stupid but i need somebody to point it out to me as two days of searches keeps sending me around in circles.

    my site is www.thegardenspider.com

my theme.html code is as follows:

Please please help as my head is hurting from banging my head against the screen :(

    Cheers
  • replace all instances of with {image-path} in all of your .HTML files.

  • HI,
Thanks dude, a vision of light in one sente :D nce

    my site is up!!!

does this mean that dreamweaver always writes the code as
--[image-path]-- and i have to change it to {image-path} whenever i add a new image to a theme?
  • No. That code is from an older version of AutoTheme.
Has nothing to do with DreamWeaver.

Any AutoThemes you create or download should be using {image-path} now.

  • dragonet.

A request for future posts... Please don't add entire code files. Try to isolate an example or the specific area of code causing a problem. Only post the entire file if asked to do so. It's almost impossible to read significant chunks of code in a forum post. Posting an entire file is seen as bad ettiiquettte - your asking people to help you when (seemingly by posting the entire code) you've not even looked to isolate the problem.

    Thanks.

    -Mark

  • Mind if I ask if you PAID for that theme?
Only reason I ask is because a bunch of the graphics in it are from other free Themes.

  • Sorry about that Mark but I see so many people getting flamed for not giving enough info.

I had the graphics greated for me but because I cannot figure out how to upload the images I had to pay to have it done using parts of themes that i liked.

My bubble has been burst a bit as I still cannot figure out why I cannot upload images using dreamweaver. after sorting the images for the new theme and with confidence i went back to an old theme that I have been trying to add the image to but no images show.

    Anyway thank you one again.
  • I'm a bit lost by your statement..
You say you paid for the graphics to be created?

I can tell you right now that the horizontal menu on that theme was created by ME.
    Someone just renamed the pics.

Just look at the Pastel-Green theme I created and you will see what I am talking about.
    http://www.predatorial-tendencies.com/index.php?theme=Pastel-Green

Now if that company is telling you the CREATED them, I am going to have to really think hard about releasing free themes.. :(

  • I paid to have the header image created
the rest is just altered bits of other themes.
I choose the bits I wanted and I paid somebody to peace it together.

for example the block graphics are from AT-XP1_0 but changed the colour.
you are right about the buttom bar it is from the pastel-green theme

So no I did not pay for images below the header just paid to bring them all together. I hope this sets your mind at rest.

:D I just managed to upload a image to an old theme using dreamweaver.
for some reason if i use the add image tool in dreamweaver the HTML looks something like
  • forgot to say I paid one individual for the header image and a second person to put everything together.
