Problem images replacing block title(and other problems)  Bottom

  • I read the thread on the tricks for theme creation that is stickied at the top of the forum, and followed a lot of those instructions. However, I've come to a roadblock in the design of my theme. I've decided to use images in the place of block titles. It worked, but there were a few errors. There seems to be a line of space appearing under the image, breaking the flow of the block. You can see a perfect example by visiting what I have done thus far at http://www.otaku-rep…/postnuke/index.php and taking a look. Please note that my design isn't finished. I'm lacking my logo, among other things.

I have one other problem with CSS. Apparently, with PN-normal the background of text is always white, unless you specify it differently. So, when I do, it alters the look of the text in modules. You can see an example of what I mean by checking something like the Review section. I need the text for my blocks to have a background matching the blocks, but the text outside the blocks need to match the normal background. Any advice on what to do here? Thanks in advance.
  • I'm guessing at the solution to the background problem, but I'd try to not specify a background for PN-normal at all, and remove any other background specifications for PN-normal in the CSS sheet, if they are not specified anywhere it should be "transparent" background

as for the space in your blocks, are all your title images the same height? if so perhaps specifying the height of the cells your title appears in might correct the problem... I'm not really sure, Themes seem to be the most sensitive part of all postnuke and they're very difficult to get properly set up
  • You seem to have sorted out your problems, works in both IE and Mozilla. Very nice look with the image headings, instead plain ol' text.
  • Yeah, I got it figured out. It seems that I forgot about changing the values in the StyleNN.css to match Style.css. That fixed the colors, and as for the block images...that was my fault as well. I screwed up the layout of the tables, so I just resliced the base image in fireworks and now everything works. I'm going to finish work on the site design tonight hopefully. Thanks for the help everyone! :)
