Hi, I have one large image in my header of my (sort of customized) theme. See the site here: http://www.westernbands.net/
On a PC using IE, the cell that contains the background image leaves a couple pixels at the bottom of the image. On a Mac, that doesn't happen.
You can view the source to see how it is layed out, but the basics are that it is an empty table cell with the style='background-image=URL(blah)' attribute set. Then I use a transparent pixel image (width=1, height=100) to stretch the cell. The image dimensions are 1000x100
