A cookbook and a knowldege base  Bottom

  • I'm looking to add a cookbook to my website, where users can submit recipes, etc and serch them. I'm also looking to put in some sort of information knowledgebase.

I'm pretty sure I can use the topics/sections module for that but I seriously HATE the way it works... any help?

It would be nice to have a module that works like the weblinks module; pretty straightforward and easy to use... you search, you find, it's all seaparated into sections, and you can add your content very easily.

Is this functionality in there already, and I'm just not seeing it?
  • hello ZaKapitan,

interesting ideas you have. Hmm - A knowledge-base. Content-Express may fit well in some aspects. please have a closer look at http://pn.arising.net

Perhaps you take a tour and have a look at the current features of ContentExpress. The upcomming releases are very very promising!

Thats all i know. But i am very interested if anybody has got more hints.

    regards
    matze :D
  • It can be done I might do something like this after I have finished a few other mods I have been working on.
  • thanx a LOT bharvey...

It's for www.fightdiabetes.com, BTW go check it out! I'm a month old to postNuke, and less than that to PHP...

I'm now undergoing the overwhelming task of fully integrating PhpBB2 into the site, to agree with the themes, true user integration, global personal messages, instead of just in the messageboards, a million things...

I would love towork on it with you if you'd like, to learn this PHP crap :) but if you ever get to it, PLEASE LMK! my email addy: webmaster@fightdiabetes.com
  • I been looking for this in a long time and hope to test it soon bharvey.

    TIA
  • Content Express is very good but I have some issues with the code the WYSIWYG editors writes, and changes on it's own. I tried EZCMS but to honest I never gave it the time required to really learn it. That's one of the hard parts of using so many systems. ZaKapitan, I think your site is gonna do great things. Best of luck with it!

    Thanks a lot, X... I'm hoping!
  • I checked out Content Express's features... it seems like an easier way to make flashier pages for PN... is this correct?

I don't see much knowledge base/file management potential in it...

Thanks... forgive my ignorance, I'm still new to PN and PHP.
