I've been having a good look through the forums, but can't quite find what I'm looking for.
Can someone explain "in plain english"- how to convert a template to a theme.
I've looked at AutoTheme and also xte, but can't quite get my head round what they do.
Is there anything out there that will do the job locally (i.e. not on web) & automatically from a HTML template to a PN theme??
Thanks
Chris

Automatically, no, but AutoTheme is very simple to do. You just need to add some tags to it where you want certian info to go.

Thanks - I've got atlite but the instructions aren't sinking in. (possibly 'cos I'm no programmer or HTML expert).
I've got my template - somehow I've got to "chop it up" to get my Main Page template (theme.html),
Left Block template (leftblock.html),
Center Block template (centerblock.html)
and Right Block template (rightblock.html)
????
Thanks

Here's a post with tips on doing a "classic" theme.php with a WYSIWYG editor:
Theme Guide: Tips fo…g and starter theme
Or you can include external .html files for the various sections... The key is to insert PHP vars where you want certain stuff to appear...
