NEW Real Estate Module  Bottom

  • This is a real estate modul I recently found:

    www.agent-see.co.uk
this is their website, they have demo and support forums.

But this thing needs some additional work.

for exampl if you want it to be on your fromt page - it dousn't show up in the options for index.php.

Or how can the left nav_bar with pictures be shown on the front page?

Can anybody interested help with this?

    Thanks
  • I am finishing up contract work for a client rewriting a PostNuke real estate module called OpenRealty. OpenRealty needed lots of work too, but now it is really awesome. I have added a community level so that in case you are representing entire communities (like my client is) you can put homesites in a community, rather than a hodgepodge of homes. I have also fixed their incredibly sloppy image uploading. Images now display in a dynamic flash gallery that loads at the top of any community or homesite detail page. I am working on adding a flash based dynamic map of the US to plot points where listings can be found and allow the user to zoom in on areas and find listings geographically rather than just by a text or feature search.

If you would be interested in the rewritten module, email me at leason at thewebsolutionsgroup dot com. There is a demo available on [ur]http://dev1.thewebsolutionsgroup.com[/url]; just click the OpenRealty link in the menu. The module is by no means finished, but we are pretty close.

    regards,

    Lee
  • Hi leason,

Thanks for prompt response. I am definitely interested in such a modul. The community feature would be very helpful.
Mine (the one I was talking in the subject) is working fine now. I've done a lot of work on it. Not major coding but all kind of ajustments.

Agentsee IS based on the OpenRealty module.

Check it out on my website: http://www.dhama.us/modules/agentsee/index.php
Everything but the first page is in English.
May be you will be able to use some of their stuff.

The only problem that I have - it doesn't open under the postnuke - it occupies the entire window.
Another thing - I want the left bar placed on the postnuke front page - without PHP knowledge it is impossible for me.

  • leason, count me as DEFINITELY interested. are you going to be charging for this module? not complaining, just preparing myself for the answer. I got the current OR module to work for the most basic needs but it is definitely time for a facelift.

Agent see is a Module to Postnuke?

This sounds really nice, but might I suggest that you also provide similar capabilities without resorting to flash? I always think that it's good to also support the least-common-denominator in terms of web access and flash just isn't part of that.

One more thought: I implemented a dynamic world-map for a client of mine (in Java :?) where you'd click on the continent, the it would load the next page where you could click on countries, and so on. It used CSIM and worked quie well. You could even allow the admin to upload the map image together with a CSIM and get most of that functionality without resorting to programming.

Definitely interested; I just mailed you ...

  • yita,

Agent see is a Module to Postnuke?

may be it is not a modul - but Postnuke recognises it as module almost perfectly.

    Leason,

I am interested in your module. Is it available for download and try?
  • We have not really worked out how we are going to distribute the module yet. The original module was released under the GPL, so I'm pretty sure our work must be released under the same license. But, there is a catch to that requirement; if you change enough of the code the work becomes something else in which case we could license it however we want. If we can release the code under our own license then a 30 trial will be available for it, otherwise no trial because the code will have to remain unencoded (GPL restriction) and that makes it impossible to release a trial. I will keep you all posted on how this comes out. Our primary goal is to respect the original authors work and not try to push our limits on what we can do legally. We are reading up and trying to see what would be best for our company and our customers right now. Thanks for you interest though. Either way, the module won't be expensive. Just enough to cover the development cost.
