Is the waiting content system going to be improved in .8? Something like SnakePending would seem to be a better solution than the current one, which as I recall requires one to make a modification to a core file to add new pending content checks.
I'm planing on my next releases of my modules to make them SnakePending aware and add the nessecary info to it if it's there.

Michael,
That seems like a sensible suggestion. The existing 'system' is not really up to much. The basic concept of snakepending is one option. Another option is a hook based one. When a new content item is created then a module should call pnModCallHooks so a pending content module register an item create hook. The downside here is the pending module doesn't know when the content has been approved.
The other main concern (all be it a personal one) is the name 'SnakePending'. It doesn't really fit. If PN is to be used in more commercial situations then the name would have to change. The module would also need porting to pnRender. I have a tidied version of SnakePending on my machine - renamed PendingContent - that could form the basis of this work.
