  I searched in the PNmodules for counter and found a 'visitcounter' module. But the link to download it is not working.
  
  Does anyone have the 'visitcounter' module or any other way to implement a site counter that displays only the number of visitors (or hits) ??

  The statistics module from www.mtrad.com replaces the Stats and Referer modules and counts visitors and visits.
  
  Currently, statistics v5 doesn't have a block that displays the number of visits. But someone just contributed it for v6, which should be out in a week or two.
  
  If you're looking for some kind of counter to put in your theme footer, I can probably help you implement the necessary PHP and SQL...

  This assumes that you would be using the statistics module.
