Have the Postnuke programmers forgotten the main purpose?  Bottom

  • I am a great fan of Postnuke. I have used many other CM systems and the main benefit of using Postnuke is that it simply works.

I can´t agree more to the newsarticle "Have we forgotten the way PostNuke handles content?"

It seems like the great programmers of Postnuke Modules have forgotten the main use - which is content handling. There are two main targets I would like to see the programmers focusing on. The WYSIWYG editor. and the News module. The editor can´t handle copying or pasting from Word or Excel and does´nt handle tables well.

Another feature which is important, and I can´t understand why it hasn´t been written, is the ability to browse pictures and inserting pictures in articles without having to ftp them, remembering the path, etc... THIS is what the Postnuke geniuses should focus on. Thousands of feature-rich modules and blocks don´t matter if the main use is crippled - which is handling content (text and pictures).

Another feature important to writers is the possibility of expiration of articles. This has been overlooked by programmers, but is widely accepted as an important one in many other CM systems.
