    I intermitttently get this error

    If the page is refreshed then the error generally goes.

    I have set everything i can think of to chmod 777

    This is using a recent installation of PN with the xanthia module not authotheme. If possible a solution that doesnt involve removing xanthia and creating a new AutoTheme would be great. Does AutoTheme have the twin news article colums on the homepage option?

    Suggestions appreciated.

    I only have an answer for the second question. Yes, AutoTheme provides alternating summaries, every other summary can be customized with it's own template, so just set one to float (align="left"), this will keep it from breaking to the next line and you will have 2 columns of articles.
