After literally hundreds of requests for my minichat block (which I cant release as it needs the macromedia communications server to run - and this needs to be purchased from macromedia) I have made a similar block using flashmx and a very basic chat application.
It appears to work fine and is stand alone so will work in any CMS or HTML page. I will supply this minichat2 complete with source code for £10 (ten uk pounds) if anyone is interested. The working demo is here my my test portal http://80.177.26.62/…rtal/html/index.php
This minichat2 will resize and could easily be used as a chat module too.
comments would be welcome.
EDIT the module and block are downloadable now - please see later posting

congatulations evesham a neat clean looking flash chat, that maybe better than a shoutbox,It works extremely well and is very fast.
Your site contains so much chat stuff and the help you give often hours of your time to help novices like myself never ceases to amaze me. I for one will be interested in this module.

nice well you dont have to have any of my applications or mods !
Comments like that (especially from someone who dosent use a website in his profile ! ) make me wonder if ANYTHING I DO HERE IS WORTHWHILE - the amount of time and effort I have put into postnuke and helping its users all for free ! is un measurable.
Well online gamer thanks for your comment and dont bother with a comment on my posts unless you have something constructive to say ! -

To answer you
- I have been using PhpNuke for a long time and working on modules for it (phpnuke.org) i only converted to postnuke approx. march last year since then I have mainly been frequenting Postnuke France (postnuke-france.org) and decided to come over to the main english site only recently ...
- As for what i said perhaps i should not of said it so harshly but it is my opinion ,after all if you enjoy creating modules and helping people I respect you for that ,then why should you not make some money out of it (even if i do believe in free software) ?
So good luck with your minichat :) -

Thanks guys for the nice comments - guess i shouldn't let it get to me quite so much.
onlinegamer, yes your comment harshly put after all in other postings you do not criticise people asking for payments but you had the decency to return and make ammends. so no bad feelings here.
Ok postnuke the easyflash-chat module and the minichat2 block is available to download FREE (if you wish to consider a small donation using the paypal donation button then thats cool).
Full install instructions are included and you can see the demos

Wow! Very nice. It seemed a little slow on the demo, but is really fast on my own server. Must be due to distance? I think I am around the world from you! Whatever happened to lightspeed? he he. Great work!!!
P.S. Be sure to make your chattext.txt files writable! I was waiting and waiting, Doh! -

Onlinegamer, I believe in free software too!
I also believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and that King George will bring democracy to Iraq!
There is a difference between free source and free software. Even Marx recognized that labor has value. The problem is the divide between value and price. I would worry more about McDonalds charging a $1 for a twenty cent burger while not paying it's employees a living wage. Just a thought! -

Onlinegamer,
I was just being a smart ass late at night! No offence meant.
I do like this model of free distribution and then asking for a donation if you use the work though! It gives end users a chance to see if the code works for them and fits their needs. Then by all means if you are going to use the scipt on your site you should contribute something! Maybe next time I go to micky d's I will eat the burger first and offer them 20 cents! he he :D
