  I´m interested in using the pnNavigator module from

  It is - the navigator was orignally written by MagicX. I updated it upon the release of .726 (under which it failed) to use ADODB (from direct mysql) and Smarty (from fast templates) but the code is still hardcoded to look at our particular multisite setup.
  
  In combination with something like AutoTheme, xanthia or neuclei blocks the blocks mentioned by N!cklas will do somethiing very similar and be much more generic than the navigator. We'll be removing it ourselves in favour of simliar blocks on the release of .8.
