PagEd vs Content Express  Bottom

  • I'm setting up a site from scratch and I want to add a dynamic subject system so that you can click on a specific topic and then go to a subsite type page that has all the reviews, articles, news, forums and shop items only for that catagory.

I don't think anything for PostNuke can do it, but Content Express or PagEd seem to be the closest for me to use for the moment. wink

Which is easier to use? :?:

Do either of them allow you to hook into dynamic content as well as display static pages?

Which is more versatile to make fancy pages?

One of the Content Express sites is quite impressive in its use of animations: http://physicshome.c…e%20Lectures&meid=1
but perhaps PagEd is just as capable but just doesn't have as good a demo site? :D
  • Looks like they just embedded flash. I think CE is probably going to be more along the lines of what you are looking for. PagEd, seems to be more New's oriented and I have had some issues with them in the past.

    JMHO
Why not install them both and try them out?
    Good Luck

you could use multisites for this....

Oh I thought Multisites was to have the same site spread across multiple servers yet with a linked DB... like have your forum and articles on different machines to keep speed high

Well can you answer a quick question as to how it would work. How seperate are multisites? How much do they interact? Will autolinks still work between them? Do you still admin them as 1 site?

    Thanks for your help

    :D
  • YOu can seperate multisites however you want. I am running 2 sites right now. They are on the same server and are on simliar topics. but I wanted all the content to be completely diffferent.

The only tables the two sites share are user and Private Messaging and maybe a few others, the rest are completely independent of each other. They are really 2 seperate installs of PN. It works great for me for now....
  • PagEd is not news oriented - it just supports news very well too. Have a look at how I used PagEd at http://VirkPaaNettet.dk - and how the same PagEd module is used at f.ex. http://www.karismacentret.dk - notice that the menus on both sites are also a part of PagEd.

    IMHO it's a pretty powerfull module :)
