Using the PHP core block: 3 line script to state day of week & date works.
Next step is to look up a table in the database and echo a short message about the timetable for the day. I have this longer script working perfectly in a separate file test.php but when I paste it into the window for editing the block (omitting the ?PHP tags), the block fails to show up at all on the webpage. Solutions, suggestions or pointers to documentation would be appreciated. -

From reading other posts in this forum, the PHP block cannot interface with the database, so that may be the root of your problem.

Hi Mark,
I too am having this issue and what I found out is was...you can have it call a database :) The problem is somewhere else..if you change your template to one that doesn't have images around the blocks or for the blocks, such as ExtraLite...it will show up.. So if ANYONE knows why this will not work on other templates.. I really really need this block lol
