    Hi,
I've found a terrific dictionary mod for phpnuke at this site: http://www.designsha…de=&order=0&thold=0

I have no idea how to convert it to work with PN, but the author said it should be easy.
(he has no intension of modifying it, but doesn't care if I do)

Can anyone do this? I'm sure many people would benefit from it.

    Thanks for your time!

I just checked out the module you are recommending for port. I love it! I think this would be a great tool for sites related to education. Too bad I have nothing to offer in code. Just my heartfelt second to your notion of a port.

I'd looked at this when it was originally posted and it looks easy enough to port. I might have a look at this and see if I can port it across. This won't be for a couple of weeks as i'm working heavily on some core stuff. Also i'll use the upcoming pnRender module so that all the output is fully templated.

One quick point on this module - I hope you've all plenty of DB quota. The module once extracted comes with a 24Mb SQL file.... It looks easy to port to PN as the vast majority of archive is the DB, there's very little actual code.

As outlined it will be fully dependant on the forthcoming XTE (xanthia template engine) as I will fully template all output for ease of modification (also i've been working with templating for 6 months on .8 and now can't do it the old way).

Release details will be posted on mods.postnuke.com and on www.markwest.me.uk.

A early preview of the module can be seen on http://pn726.markwest.me.uk/. There is a dictionary link in the main menu and block on the right of the site. There's some tidying up to do and the dictionary game feature to implement but things look fairly good right now.

We are still dependant on the release of XTE before I can release the module.

This isn't a problem for me. DB size is only relative to account size. Thanks for pointing this out though. I'm sure others will benefit from the info.

I hopped over to see your progress; it's great. Thanks for taking the time to port this mod.

I can hardly wait until the release, it feels like xmas! LOL

    Hi,
    Hope everyone is doing well!

Did this mod ever get released?
I've been out of the loop for quite a while, although have looked for it from time to time.
I found a forum entry on www.markwest.me.uk but no posts in it or mod.

I never got around to releasing it due to some problems working out the best way to get the data into the database. I'll put together a package as is and release it this weekend. Some people may need to split the SQL file in order to load all the data.
