Hello,
Is there some sort of a news hack around that allows you to add custom fields within news?
Like the standard news has 2 boxes -(one the snippet and one the full story) Is there a hack to add extra boxes for more items of news that could appear somewere else on the page within the full story?
So i could add pictures that would all appear in the same section of the news page without me having to copy, paste or link them all and alighn them.
Thaks for your help -

well, there is no hack that does this, nor would I reccomend it if there was. It makes upgrading virtually impossible = not a good thing.

But coranto news script has a add on field feature which works great when upgrading?!
Coranto is just far to customisable which can get extremley confusing though.
So there isnt a way too add extra fields into the news posting? -

when you upgrade, you overwrite the old files with the new files and new code - therefore any changes you make to the old file get lost. So, when you upgrade any changes you make to the news module would have to be re-implemented.
You can do it, but you would have to hack the news module, and hacks of core things are not advisable.

I expect that adding extras to the news module would be possible through hooks (which would mean that upgrading would not be a problem as core code isnt modified), but Im not a coder so I dont know. One thing I do know is that there isnt a module to do this :)
