Changes I'd like to see.  Bottom

  • 1: I'd really like to see a disclaimer added to the news/articles blocks stating something about copyright infringement.

Even better would be a way to allow me to configure what the disclaimer should say.

I need to have a statement reminding people about copyright infringement issues and letting them know they need to be the copyright holder before posting any articles.

2: Users to be able to delete their own accounts.

3: Users to be able to change their own usernames.

4: Some sort of email validation probe that I could run via admin to verify all email addresses and flag accounts whose email is invalid.

5: Be able to lookup users by email address.

Any chance those could be worked into a future release?
  • 1) This will be easy with PN .8 - you'll define a language define in the news module and add the tag to the template. This could be achieved by editing the themearticle and themeindex functions of theme now.

    2) This raises the age old question 'what would you do with the users contributions to your site'. Keep them? If so attribute them to who? Delete them? Fine but what about nested content e.g. comments etc.

    3) Currently some modules use the username rather than userid to attribute content. These modules would break. I'll looking at addressing this in the core modules but there would still be an issue with 3rd party modules.

    4) Verify them how? That the acutal e-mail is a real live person or that the address is a valid format or possibly a half way house that the domain the user is on is a valid.

    5) This should be easy to implement. Post this and the others a feature requests at http://noc.postnuke.com.
