handling many groups  Bottom

  • I have many groups (40+) on my site and I'm currently using pncgroups from http://dev.pnconcept.com. This module works pretty well for my needs, but there is one thing that I would really like to figure out... and I'm not sure if it's only related to the pncgroups module, or if this can be done via tweaking postnuke....

There's a pncmembers block that basically shows the members for a particular group. I currently have 40+ pncmembers blocks running down the left and right sides of my index page... showing the members of each group. It's quite handy to see who's in what group at a glance, but because there are now well over 50 blocks on my index page.. it's making the page slower to load, especially when on a handheld or on dial-up (I assume people still use dial-up?).

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out if I can have all of these pncmembers blocks on a seperate page (HTML or other). That way I can just have a link in the menu, where if people want to see the groups member lists, they are taken to a page that has these blocks listed out (in columns?).

    Is this possible?

Yes, I've emailed the module owner, and posted a note in his forum about this and have not received a response, so I turn now to the PN community.

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael
  • well i wont take offence at that, as i use a dialup ;)

i think you want to display module specific blocks - if you could have a blank module, and link to it, and the module specific blocks show all your group blocks on that page - that would have the effect you are looking for?

you could search the forums for how to do this
