Okay, when I try and entered into the modules section under Admin or blocks under admin I get this error:
Fatal error: session_register() [function.session-register]: Failed to initialize session module in /home/kellyswo/public_html/thenews/includes/pnSession.php on line 158
I don't think this is a good thing. :( I installed Advanced Poll 1.1 Beta 2 and imediately after install I began to get the above error.
I followed the instructions for intializing and activating and when I tried to create the block for it... boom... not good.
Anyone have a way to undo the damage?

I only started with postnuke a few days ago, so I haven't gotten as far as making a backup. Besides, as I understand it the backup is only good for the data and not for any of the modules so I would have to re-install everything again anyway. -

As per the post on my forum there must have been some other factor involved here. I would suggest that when developing a site you keep a full changelog such that when something goes wrong you can step back through the changes until you identify the problem.
I also wouldn't assume any third party module works - while i'm a core developer my third party code has not been tested as well as my core code. I think it works and is not the root cause of your problem but I would always backup files and database prior to installing any third party code.
Actually you should backup prior to making any significant change to your site. This way your covered against any eventuality.

Above is true... I mostly screwing around with this to see if I want to use it for our new Alumni Association. As to fixing it, I figured it out. I believe I posted on your site, but thought it best to post here as well. I tried something that I thought was drastic, I delete the folder in the modules section. Then attempted to make changes.... at that point the system allowed me into modules and blocks. I delete the modules and deleted the block. I then turned off the built in voting support. I then re-installed the module and went through the various steps.
It worked. As I had said, not sure if it was user error or something else. But this user figured it out.
Thanks,
Kelly
