Any ballpark idea before we will see a .726 final.
Want to start working on a new site but would prefer to work on the final .726
If its going to be available in the next few days I'll wait.
Otherwise how easy would the upgrade path from RC3 be? I presume no DB changes so just a case of dropping in the new version on top. -

dropping the new version on top is the method, and the release will be when its ready. Basically the more bug reports that come in, the longer the final version will be

Yankee Stadium, left field, 9th inning.
Memorize this: any program, open source or commercial, is ready when it's ready and not a minute before. There's just no way of knowing when that will be. Target dates are frequently missed in many endeavors.
In the past, such targets led to the coining of the term vaporware. Some software was delayed so much, or shelved altogether, that it was mor e vapor than real, unrealized projections.
Look at the PHP forum program Phorum as an example, Phorum 2 and 4 became vaporware, never released and were abandoned for 3 and 5 respectively.
As regards PN, thh preojected release date for 0.8 expired months ago and it will be at least 6 months beyond that date before we might see it. Things happen. Sometimes they don't.
In other words, a policy of "don't ask, don't tell" should be the rule regarding releases.
Practice patience. You may as well, the next release won't be ready any sooner if you don't.
_______________
I do understand. There are times in the past when I felt like a poster I saw once of two buzzards looking out over the desert at a struggling man. One turns to the other and says "Patience, hell! I'm going to go out and kill something!"

Yes, I did a search before posting. I've checked pnGuide and the forums and did not find the answer to my question(s).

There have been no DB changes from .723 in any of the the .726 release candidates. I expect us to package .726 over the next couple of days subject to tying up one or two loose ends.

I no ;).... I'm having one last go through the bugtracker at the moment. Yes - there will still be issues - i've never seen a perfect piece of software.
There are a few things that aren't so much bugs but feature requests and exstensions to support cases that weren't originally anticipated. There are also a few that require some substantial review for the effect they will have across the entire codebase. Things like this won't make it but will be left open so they can be address for PN .8.

guys,
delighted to see you keeping people informed. Its one of the most important things to me.
I know you don't like committing to dates that people can hold you to.... but I'd rather a best guess than nothing at all and I'm sure thats echoed by other people here.
Information is the key to keeping people loyal to PostNuke. -

i agree, but i myself cant give that information, as im not really on the inside of dev issues. I think there was a lack of information about the next release earlier in the year, but it seems that communication is improving now ;)
