There is something similar already developed for PostNuke. Look up Active Menu. It is a PN module based on a menu I've been familiar with for years and had some discussions with the author about it. In fact, I've made suggestions to both the author of the menu and the module. I was delighted to find it.

This site has a nice fly-out menu module for PN. I think Content Express has that as part of its feature set, too...

That's Active Menu, the module I was referring to. You can tell by those letters at the top that say Active Menu. ;)
