Hello, I am a total newb
with PN but I am extremely interested getting my own site up and running with it.
SO- I was wondering if some of you more experienced folks could give me some suggestions as to the best set-up, like obviously PN would be needed in the set up, but are there any other programs that work really well for the other stuff like the MySQL, etc..?

Do a search for installation stuff
My SQL is great for PN, there are theme programs such as Autolite, and Xyanthia although I haven’t messed with that one yet.
Also look through the blocks and mod sections, they have good stuff there.
