Explain further. There is no one day limit on polls. They run as long as you have them on your site. Only the one in use is shown on front page, the others, older ones, can still be accessed as well.

I think the original poster means extend the period of time that a member can not vote. ie. registered users can vote once per day. I don't know a way to do it without hacking the code. Without knowing the code, I would assume that the time of voting is stored in the DB. Presumably you could increase the time that has to have elapsed before somebody can vote again. -
