We really need a new field to "browse" to a local image(s) and include it in your news article, align it LEFT - CENTER - RIGHT. If there are multiple images, they should be thumbnailed and when clicked on, it is opened in a new window so it's full-sized. Images sell the story.
Or perhaps there is a better news module that is target to journalists?

But it crashed my website...
still needs more work...
I might look at the code differences here in the next couple of days, to determine what exactly crashed it,
but I had to restore the files RTE said to replace, from backups.
I agree, though, that an image upload, associated with an article would be most helpful.
In fact, integrating it into the gallery module would be nice also, so the image URL would never go away...
that way pictures would still be viewable in gallery format.
another idea , or question I have had along these lines has been, that doesn't mysql support storing an image in a database field. So, couldn't the submit news module be hacked to include a brose to local image, button, and the resulting image be stored with the story...
and, a position button could be included, so that it could be positioned top left, top center, to right, mid left, mid center, mid right, bottom left, bottom center, bottom right, in association with the article text.
Doesn't seem like this would be a difficult hack to the postnuke code...
is this doable as a module?
