PostNuke rocks  Bottom

  • All I know as that I tried PHP-Nuke and wasted this entire day trying to install it. I also know I tried to install PostNuke and it was simple, didn't have any stupid config files, and it didn't spit an error at me the whole time.

PHP-Nuke, however, acted up. I had to search several boards for instructions on how to install it on IIS, and even when I followed those instructions it still didn't work.

Maybe there's more to these scripts than just easy installation, and I'm too quick to judge. But then again, if a script should do anything, it should install.
  • Catchy title for a thread. And I agree 100% 8)

    PostNuke Rocks
  • So I'm picky -- I wanted CMS, (it is CMS isn't it?) but my only experience with PHP and database stuff was installing forums for the various sites I run.

I installed PN for a bit, played with it, deleted it, tried phpwebsite, deleted it, couldn't get xoops to install, came back and decided if I was gonna have to learn it, I'd learn the one that worked right off the bat -- that'd be postnuke.

so far, I have not found any bugs, and probably wouldn't know it if I did (dammit, I'm an editor, not a programmer -- though I'm not afraid to tweak). I will say that everything I couldn't get to work right at first, I DID get to work right after taking a stroll thru the forums.

so: feedback. Postnuke does indeed rock. And also, these forums rock -- thanks to everyone who's asked what they thought was a dumb question (though not over and over again wink ) and thanks to everyone else who had the patience to answer.
