SourceForge GForge  Bottom

  • I am currently creating a site to allow multiple companies to create certain software projects. And I have been looking at several software packages that I could use.

Two of my favorite packages are GForge and SourceForge.

I found that the only CMS that has a module of either of these packages is Xoops and it's XoopsForge module which is a port of SourceForge. XoopsForge works great on an earlier version of Xoops, but Xoops has been upgraded and the XoopsForge module has been orphaned for almost a year with no sign of anything being done to make it compatible with Xoops. And besides, I just like PostNuke a heck of a lot better.

I would like to know if anyone here has seen a GForge or SourceForge module (with CVS!) for PostNuke.

If not are there any people interested in porting this XoopsForge over to PN?
  • I too am loking for such a module. How much different is Xoop from PostNuke? I plan on putting together a site for hardware/software GNU-ing. This is exactly the kind of module I would need to do this. This would be an excellent tool for any of those PN sites out there dedicated to their module, or other software project. For those that don't see eye-to-eye with VA, keeping things in-house would be nice.
The Xoops module looks pretty much like this. Just don't know how do do the porting.... cry
  • Bump.

Gforge as a Post Module would be a huge win for me. Anyone else? We have both Gforge and PostNuke in house with the same user community accessing both. Any idea on how to integrate the two?

    Thanks.
  • /me Still looking for this integration... This could be *cough* commercial, and I'd be still interested... As long as it was reasonable... ;)

CVS stats as a block, progress meter integrated, etc... My wish list is long. I've picked a couple PHP programming for dumb asses manuals, but I just don't think like a programmer (yet), so this would be a long dead project probably before I got anything usable...

Thanks to all the coders out there that have made all the good modules so far. You make us site admins look good when we get stuff tied together for the users pleasure! I envy your skills!
  • One of the quickiest solutions for this need would be to integrate the GForge users into Postnuke, and then Wrap Gforge with PostWrap.

Group security would be a must; some folks shouldn't have access to GForge.
