Is there anything on this site which tells me what postNuke is and does - and if it is, why isn't it easy to find? All I see is news, support, download, etc. but no big fat "about" or "features" or so. And to see this, I need an account - which I think I never need again.... :?: -

There is a brief discription of postnuke on the main page http://postnuke.com
you can also find more information here and the postnuke vision here andhereis what hotscripts says about it.
I am a relative newbie to all this - one thing that has been a must have is an account on this site, so as to take part in the forums - post your questions and solutions. This is one amazing bit of programming and is capable of doing any number of tasks. -

All,
I agree with Nervig. I've been assessing open source CMS projects. I have some criteria I follow to save me wasting time and getting off track.
1. Description- tells me in a paragraph what it is
1. Specification- says what features it has
2. Dependency- tells me what I need for it to install
3. Installation instructions
4. Overview - describes the projects components in more detail and how they fit together at a high level
5. Depth & Clarity of documentation
6. Bugs and troubleshooting support
I could have found most of these things with a click from the first page except for one thing. I did not know that Wiki meant documentation. I actually spent half and hour and then gave up and found a substitute pdf on the web with a google.
Postnuke is probably the best of all the PHP CMS's but this tiny problem may be putting lots of people off. Could you please put a link under documentation to the Wiki page? Also perhaps a line on the front page saying: " Are you new to postnuke? - read this documentation "-> link to Wiki page.
For the benefit others heres the pdf link- http://www.bluedisco…nGuide/PN-i-gsg.pdf
Many thanks for postnuke,
Boggle
