Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has developed a mailing list block that works like a list serve -- giving one the ability to mass email registered users and/or email addresses that the admin adds to the list.
I've heard of mailbag, but I'm not sure that would suit these needs, or if it's stable yet.
Thank you,
Sam

PostmyMail, is not a block, is a module, that allows you to manage many mailing lists in a centralized control panel, you can download it from my portal at:
http://www.creatividad-digital.com/descargas/postMyMail-089-0714.zip
Just unzipped in you local computer, once is unzipped, go to the install folder, and look into install.txt file, there you'll find detailed instructions on how to install the module.
Here, I include the description of the module, from the original author, to see if it's what you need:
Quote
I am pleased to announce the availability of postMyMail, a PostNuke (rogue) module port of Peter McNulty's MyMail mailing list manager. A developer named siliconaut did the original module, but he seems to have moved on.
I chose and enhanced this module to fit my own needs, even though it's not GPL. The original developer, Peter McNulty, has graciously allowed this module to be made available to the PostNuke community provided that it is only available for download from the PostNuke (modules) site and from his own site at http://www.codingclick.com. I have posted a downloads link on the mods.postnuke.com site and you'll be able to download it there as soon as it's approved, if it isn't already. You can see it in action at my site, at http://bronto.csd-bes.net
Here are the details:
This module is intended to be a full featured 'Newsletter'-type mailing list manager. It does not do SQL queries as a means of adding content to a message, nor does it handle discussion-type lists where replies to messages are sent to other subscibers. But it does do a very good job of managing multiple announcement-newsletter mailing lists. It's based on MyMail v.89, which is pretty mature. Main features of MyMail include:
* Unlimited number of mailing lists
* Each list has the following preferences:
* List Name
* "From:" email address
* List description
* Header text
* Footer text
* Path to header file that displays in the signup pages and error messages
* Path to footer file that displays in the signup pages and error messages
* Whether to send a Validation message to a new subscriber.
* Text field for entering the validation message
* Validatin message title
* Welcome message title
* Text of Welcome message sent to new subscribers
* Whether to add messages to a message list archive
* Path to header file that displays in the archives
* Path to footer file that displays in the archives
* Archive font color, typeface, and size.
* All messages including validation and welcome, can contain a confirmation (<--confirm-->) and unsubscribe (<--unsub-->) tag, which will be replaced with a clickable link in sent messages.
* List manager allows adding, changing, deleteing and 'cleaning' lists of subscriptions that have not been confirmed after 2 weeks.
* Admin can manually add, delete, change and export subscriptions
* Admin can manually add, delete, and change messages in the message archives.
* When sending messages, options include:
*"From:" email, defaulted to list preference
* Subject
* "From Name:"
* Issue ID:
* Include header (yes/no)
* Include footer (yes/no)
* Message text (duh)
* Batch size setting, that causes the mailing to pause every x number of emails, which I think is designed to keep it from hogging resources.
* You get to see a preview of your message, included which of the above options are set, before it is sent.
* Messages are not sent to unconfirmed addresses
* Admin can click on a link to have it generate HTML for a form that can be pasted into a web page to create a list specific subscription page.
* Keeps track of subscription statistics
In addition, I've made certain improvements to suit my needs and to further the PostNuke modulization of MyMail ("PostMyMail"):
* Uses it's own pntables.php, so you don't have to modify the main pntables.php
* all fields made unique as preparation for eventual Rogue compatible version
* Subscriptions based on user name, not email address. As a result, users must be logged in to subscribe. When mails are sent to subscribers, the script looks up email addresses so that users can change their email addresses on your site and still maintain their subscriptions, without having to go through the hassle of having to unsubscribe the old address and resubscribe the new address.
* I've given each list a "private" attribute, which allows you to hide a list from subcription pages and archives
* I've added HTML sending capability. The validation and welcome messages always go out in HTML so that links for confirmation and unsubscribing are nicely formatted and will be clickable by my clueless AOL users. Regular messages have an option for HTML or plain text, and confirm and unsub links are formatted accordingly.
* The module now has a listinfo page for users, displaying list name, discription, a link to archives, and subscribe/unsubscribe options. Previously, you had to have a link for a specific list's archives in the PostNuke Main Menu, and a list's description wasn't available anywhere.
* I've included a block for subscribing/unsubscribing to any public list. User must be logged in for any actions to be possible, but does display all available lists even when anonymous.
Hope this helps -

There is also MultiMailer. MultiMailer is a basic first release pnAPI compliant mailing/newsletter module that allows you to break down your email subscriber list into unlimited interest categories.
Email recipients also have the option to select their own interest categories from a sign-up form. MultiMailer allows only PostNuke members to use the newsletter. Once you set up your first newsletter you import your PN users. You can do this for as many newsletters as you want.
The MultiMailer block makes it very easy for members to unsubscribe and subscribe to as many lists as they want or none.
There are more basic features found in TresMailer and PostMyMail features that will be included in the future.
What I did was import all users into a "general" newsletter and mass emailed all users to tell them about the other mailing lists categories available so we could find out who wanted information or not.
It is also reccommended you tell your users about the "unsubscribe" option first to eliminate those users who don't want to be emailed. Eventually you will have your users sorted out by interest groups and not have to deal with issues like spam.

A front end for an existing mailing list? i.e. - Mailman - I run this, and run lists off of it, but it sure would be great to see something that could interface with it for member management. Or, something that would be the 'reply to all' style mailing list.
Is it out there? -

Ok, Multimailer is close, but not quite.
I like Multimailer but for one aspect - I'd like to be able to have users on the different lists send email to and receive email from the list address - just like a Majordomo-style discussion list.
So is there a way to set up an email address (I'm on a Linux box, so I could do that part no prob) that will then send the email on to Multimailer without doing it thru the web interface?
This would be perfect for us.
Thanks! :D
