There is a way to prevent this problem, but it involves a measure you may or may not care for. I have registration moderated via pncUserhack. Whenever I see a
URL missing the http://, I add it before approving the registration.
Ideally, the http:// would be added if it was not already present. My old perl forum program worked like that. Unfortunately,
PN doesn't at present.
If you do choose this solution, note that it will not work with the forthcoming .75 release though its features will be included in .8. That means you'd have to skip upgrading to .75 as I will.
