FlashChat error. Failed to load module FlashChat

Ok I followed the intergration of this module that someone made. http://www.tufat.com/phpBB2/about3487.html

I also put PNblocks in the flashchat folder to make it a block that invalidresponse made.

when I try to click connect on the block I get
Failed to load module FlashChat

also, when I add it to the menu with [FlashChat] I get the same error

Failed to load module FlashChat

did I do anything wrong or are the directions bad?
..hi .. silverscout .. how far are you a long in this? ..i didn't look at the integration toot, but just going by memory: 1) you shouldn't install flashchat before initializing it as a module. 2) you need to comment out all of the CMS's in the config file except for the PostNukeMOD file 3) switch the index.php page at the root of flashchat to the one provided for postnuke (there are alterations that need to be done to that file to make it integrate better.. i posted them somewhere around here, but will post them again).

look in your database and see if there is a table there named nuke_rooms .. or maybe nuke_fc_rooms

:)
ooooh.. here's the good stuff

:D
everything that the directions state.

what is weird is that your block see's the chat room. Just wont load the module. If you want to see the page just PM me.

I will try that fix when I get home. Working an all nighter tonight. :(
..i'm stuck here (@work) until 10:30pm.. haha.. then I'm back in tomorrow morning, but feel free to message me with the URL ..

when you go to Admin->Modules->List FlashChat shows up as an active module in that list?
yes, active module and I can get to the admin panal through the administration in post nuke if that makes since.

I will send it to through PM.
BTW I feel your pain. I started work at 5pm cst and don't get home until maybe 7am.

BTW I feel your pain. I started work at 5pm cst and don't get home until maybe 7am.

hahaha.. sucks.

is there an index.php file in the root of your FlashChat directory? and is "FlashChat" the name of the directory? if I try to access index.php directly i get a 404.. so.. we need an index.php page :)
just go their. it should direct you to the index.php
flashchat is in the modules.
what is in root is postnuke.
haha yeah.. in the flashchat folder there is NO index.php.. OR it isn't readable.. I should be able to access that file directly and get an error or a BLANK SCREEN...i get a 404 which means it doesn't exist.
see.. if I go to http://www.yoursite.com/modules/Members_List/ i get an error.. do the same with modules/FlashChat/ and I get a 404 .. something's missing.. either the directory or the index.php file
flashchat is in modules/flashchat/
what is member_list?
going to
http://www.mysite.net/modules/Members_List/
i get
"You can't access this file directly..."
members_list? ..a module /modules.php?op=modload&name=Members_List&file=index

something's wrong man.. is there an index.php inside the flashchat folder?

silverscout

going to
http://www.mysite.net/modules/Members_List/
i get
"You can't access this file directly..."

hahaha right.. we're getting off the task here, BUT to explain a little.. it was just to show you what a direct access error would look like. a 404 is "file not found" .. which again, brings me to the question.. do you or do you not have an index.php file in the flashchat directory?
yes
i changed the index_postnuke.php to index.php
and what are the permissions on the flashchat folder and the index.php file itself? ..it's not readable.. do you have a server log you can view?
yeah, however not at work. damn restrictions at my work.

I set the permissions that the intergration said to do.

How could I go to the admin panal through the admin panal?
..the problem there is the same.. the permissions are "wacked" .. the files aren't readable by the webserver.. so it makes it very much like they don't exist.. postnuke for some reason will still initialize and activate modules that are not readable.. if you go to Admin->Modules->List and find flashchat in the list and it has no module description just the directory name, that means that the Version.php (or pnversion.php) file cannot be read.. and likely none of the other files in that directory either.
when I initialized the flashchat it had everything listed even the description.
is "flashchat" the name of the directory? the exact name/case-sensitive? .. I get 404's trying to access the version file too..
oooh! hahah.. i get a 505 here: modules/FlashChat/ ..but there's still no index.php file in there.. :( pnversion is there: modules/FlashChat/pnversion.php ..shows blank.. like it should..

ahhhh.. and look here: modules/FlashChat/index_default.php
so my default should be my index.html?

what happend to the postnukemod one?
and even: modules/FlashChat/index_phpnuke.php

but no index_postnuke.php or index.php
no HTML .. index.php..

i don't think there's an index.html in there either, but if there is then it's blank. it's just meant to keep people from what I'm doing right now.. hahahha
shame on you hacking my page :P

oo well lol.
so what do I need to do? copy over the index.php?
so how did I initilize it and get everything else working?
haha yeah.. i guess you'll have to wait to get home and copy the one from the flashchat distribution..since it seems to be missing.. if you follow that link i posted earlier, you could just copy what I posted there and name it index.php.. works better than what's provided.. it's sloppy, but it's okay :)

try and have a good night.. :) ..I'm outta here hahaha! I'll check back though.. later!
I will use your code.
thanks for your help. However it my stupid mistake. :(

I had it index.php.php

:(

Ok I will sit in the corner now with a dunce hat on
hahaha.. I can assure you, i've made sillier mistakes.

later.. :)
