FREE paypal module - a demo here

Hi Guys I have seen a lot of comments recently about the payment for postnuke modules and themes and my own thoughts are that if someone spends valuable time and effort and requests a payment for this service then fine - WE DONT HAVE TO PURCHASE. If you choose to purchase from a programer or buy his or her time and services then thats fine we all have a choice.
After saying all that I have seen a method of creating a paypal module and spent all of 10 minutes this morning setting up a fully functional paypal payment center on my portal.
anyone care to look at it? I should add it is FREE !

or the pncommerce module for postnuke (which i personally think is great)
a demo is here

anyone really interested in either of these for their own website just contact me for details on how i set them up

I am looking for a good module for paypal payments in postnuke, but this seems to be a java applet embedded in postnuke ... Any chance of a pnAPI complaint paypal module ?
thanks evesham in 20 minutes i had this working for my website, not strictly purely for postnuke but like you said free and adaptable for any website - i have been searching for weeks for a simple payment system and almost paid several hundred pounds for something similar, I have one question how do you find or come up with this when so many people cant ? or wont without charging people for it ?

thanks flyboy2003
your site doesn't work with safari on a macintosh (FYI).
ok i have found , downloaded and installed pncommerce module for postnuke and this installs and configures very easily if you already have a paypal account all you need to do to configure paypal as a payment method is enter your paypal account email address.
the module is good and would suit many websites.
the demo (fully functioning) is here

evesham,
When I clicked on your link, I got "page cannot be found".
However, when searching your site, I click on this link:
http://80.177.26.62/evesham-web-portal/portal/html/index.php?module=pncommerce
and got there no problem.
Just thought you might want to know.
I installed pncommerce and activated the module. When I try to set up paypal in there it shows up that it's not installed. Actually all the payment setups are not installed . Can anyone help?
Thanks Joe
By the way thanks George Hall
Hi codepoet when you installed paypal did you then activate paypal ? or install paypal as a payment method ?you need to do this and then set up the paypal link by entering your paypal email address.

evesham
where do you install paypal? I installed pncommerce but when I go under payment options it shows paypal not installed. When I click on the install button I get an API error.
evesham, I'd like to look at the module for paypal that you posted a link to, but I don't want to have to install a plug-in to view your site. Do you have a different link?

zack
Hi zack sorry it took so long to get back to you.

hi evesham downloaded pncommerce but i cant see how to activate the paypal bit? it says paypal isnt installed please help as i want this module desperately

modeler
hi modeler ok here is what you do go into your postnuke admin panel and then into the pncommerce admin section, select configure payment methods, click the add next to paypal and a screen will come up telling you paypal is not installed with an option to install it, click install and it will install for you and you just need to add your paypal email address for it to work, then set it as the default method if this is what you want.
any problems come back to me

evesham
Hi Evesham
I get as far as the section to add paypal but when I click on it it says it failed to load API. I have the pnpmpaypalapi.php in there but It wont work I guess. I don't have to do any actual changes to that do I ?

Thanks
hi
I have just been able to replicate the "failed to load API" and think that you have not yet set up any catogories or products?
The payment method will it seems only be configurable if you have products available. So go through and set up what catogories you want and add at least one product then try to add paypal.
If this fails maybe PM me or email me so i can look at the settings for you.

evesham
Thanks again for all your help evesham I will try that today.
