punycode converter smarty 1.0

Extension type: Plugin
Extension originally created by mumuri on Mar 24, 2009

Description
This smarty allow you to convert IDN domain (domain with accents) from their punycode encoding to their normal state.

What's are IDN ?

An internationalized domain name (IDN) is an Internet domain name that contains one or more non-ASCII characters. Such domain names could contain letters with diacritics, as required by many non-English languages, or characters from non-Latin scripts such as Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese or Hindi. (they can be bought in any registrar , gandi, ovh etc ...)

Here are some sample
 * - www.nörgler.com : normal form
 * - xn--nrgler-wxa : puny code form
 * - xn--brse-5qa.mysite.info : idn can be subdomain

What 's the purpose of this smarty ?

Most of the time , you ve only have access to the punycode version of your site in zikula, so if you wan't to display your domain in his normal form you have to format it first

   <!--[assign var=formatedhost value=$baseurl|punycodetonormal ]-->
   <!--[$formatedhost]-->

Notes :
- $baseurl is a variable availabe in all zikula pages, which contains your domain name
- as the call to the idn class is not static , you should call it once in a page.
